Common name: Moonlight Gourami.
Species: Trichopodus microlepis.
Habitat: Occurs naturally in Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Inhabits lowland ponds, bogs and swamps, especially where aquatic and marginal vegetation grows densely.
Potential size: 15cm.
Social behaviour: Generally peaceful. Do not keep with fish so small as to be seen as food, or that are too vigorous for these nervous fish. Ideal companions include other Botia, Corydoras, Barbs, Angelfish and loricariids. Males may become territorial with other males and other male Gourami.
Food: Flake, granules, frozen food, live food etc.
