Habitat: Africa; Nigeria and Cameroon. Inhabits creeks, swamps, streams and pools in humid, forested, highland savannah and areas of rainforest.

Social behaviour: A robust killi that can be kept with other fish of a similar size and nature. Males can be aggressive toward one another but provided the aquarium contains sufficient refuges a group can normally be maintained together.
